tai chi

Tai Chi returns to Bugbee Senior Center!

This important falls prevention program also improves concentration and muscle tone. Intro classes are Mondays from 9:30 – 10:30 am, with traditional classes from 10:40 – 11:40 am.

Classes are instructed by Anne Bower and Jeanne Bolduc. $3 per class. The first class will be Monday, October 4, 2021.

Tai Chi has been proven to benefit our bodies and minds in many ways, improve balance, coordination, concentration, and muscle tone. It’s great for people of all ages.  Loose, comfortable clothing, and flat-soled shoes recommended.

9:30-10:30  Introduction to Tai Chi (sometimes called Fall Prevention Tai Chi)–Each session begins with a set of fundamental exercises to tone and relax the body. Then we gradually learn a set of movements that stress weight shifting, deep breathing, coordination of hands and feet, and flowing movement.

10:40-11:40  Tai Chi Traditional Forms–Sun 73 and Yang 24–Depending on who attends each session we will divide our time between these two powerful forms. Anne and Jeanne may divide the group so the Yang folks have a full hour and the Sun folks do too, or we may sometimes give each form a half hour with both instructors leading.
