Summer is here! As the heat and humidity settles in, remember to stay cool and stay hydrated. Drink more water than usual and stay in air-conditioned buildings as much as possible. Avoid strenuous activities during heat waves and get plenty of rest. If you don’t have an air conditioner at home, you are absolutely welcome to come to Bugbee and enjoy the climate controlled environment here! Come chill out, enjoy some tea or coffee, watch some tv, catch up on some reading, or help Mary finish the puzzle!
May was packed with activities, and June is going to be no different. Take a look at the calendar and consider trying something new. We still have some spots for 2022’s first Bugbee Trip to Hildene. We’re introducing a new art class, “Zentangle” with Wendi Germain. Susan has booked several interesting BugbeeTalks this month, ranging from home accessibility improvements to tick prevention.
A reminder to Meals on Wheels participants: as the temperatures climb, it becomes even more important to make sure your meals are not left out in the heat, which makes it easy for bacteria causing food-borne illness to grow. Your meals are delivered fresh and ready to eat, but if you can’t eat them right away make sure they are promptly refrigerated so you can enjoy them later.
Alright, I’ll let you get to the rest of the Bulletin! I think this summer my goal is to either do more kayaking, or maybe try paddle boarding. Hope this month treats you well, keep in touch, and see you for a meal or activity soon!
