Happy Independence Day! It’s been a gorgeous season so far, hope you are spending time outside and enjoying all that summer has to offer. Don’t forget, if it gets too hot, come and cool off at the Center, especially if you don’t have air conditioning at home! We’ve got plenty of books and puzzles, and you’re welcome to just veg in front of the TV. Or maybe consider joining the knitting group!
Speaking of cooling, just a reminder that we do keep the Center air conditioned, so you may want to dress appropriately. If you are wearing light summer clothing that is comfortable outside, it’s possible you will end up too cold at the Center since we try to keep the temperature around 72 degrees indoors. We are installing baffles on the heat coolers to prevent excessive air flow, but keep it in mind next time you visit that it’ll be nice and cool inside. And don’t forget that the wait staff are busy running around to serve you lunch, we don’t want them overheating!
Renovations to the back activity room that used to house the pool tables is happening this summer! To help fund these renovations, local artist Gaal Shepherd has generously donated some items from her studio. The best part is: you can name your price! Items will be on display in the back through the month of July, so please feel free to take a look. Proceeds will offset the cost of replacing carpet, doing some electrical work, installing audio visual equipment, and best of all: a mural on one of the walls. We’re excited to have a ‘new’ space for activities soon, and thank you to Gaal for her help!
Keep enjoying the warm weather, watch out for ticks, and stay in touch! The best part about this job is all the laughs and smiles you folk bring to us, we’re so thankful for the Bugbee community.
