Did you know that “Febuary” is one of the most misspelled words in the English language? That’s why Susan and Alec proofread my notes each month. Speaking of our awesome staff, we’ve got some exciting new programs coming up towards the spring, and a great line up of both regional trips and Mini-Trips, plus more variety on our menu than I probably get at home with my own cooking. Thank you to all staff and volunteers for their hard work!
Will you be Bugbee’s Valentine? I’m looking forward to the special luncheon on the 14th, and happen to quite enjoy the baked haddock. This one might fill up early so don’t wait to sign up! There will be many other chances to meet up this month – we tried to make this month a little lighter than usual since it’s mid-winter, but that’s really hard to do when there are so many great and useful programs and classes.
I’m excited for the BugbeeTalk on Thursday, February 8! “Learn ASL with Ava!” Some of you know I grew up as a child of a deaf adult, and my mother made sure I knew sign language before I could even speak English or misspell “February.” I’d be happy to practice ASL with any of you if you have an interest after the class, and maybe we can invite Ava for more lessons.
February is also the shortest month – I wonder if that’s because we’re trying to get done with winter sooner. We appreciated everyone’s patience during the snow closures. For the outdoorsy among us, hopefully the snow has brought some great skiing and snowshoeing. For the rest of us, sometimes it’s a great reason to stay off the roads and just observe the beauty of the season from indoors. Either way you do winter, hopefully we’ll see you soon.
