Seasons’ Greetings! I’m excited for the annual Craft Fair, which is always bustling and fun. Susan has organized a great mix of more than 20 crafters who will be displaying their wares this year. The proceeds from the vendor table fees, food & bake sale, Jewelry Bazaar, and Bugbee crafters support programs, activities, and meals at Bugbee. This event brings in a lot of people who might otherwise never visit us. This is a great chance to help people learn more about the role of the senior center, and how important seniors are to the community.

If you’re doing holiday shopping, the Craft Fair is a great opportunity to get something unique and locally made for your loved ones. (I usually pick something up from the bake sale for myself, haha.) If you’re not much of a shopper, it is still really fun to just come and enjoy a snack at the Café, say hi to friends, or enjoy some people watching.

One note of housekeeping: as the weather outside becomes frightful (unless you’re a skier!), there are a few ways to check and see whether we are open during winter storms. Closures are posted to WCAX Channel 3, our home page, and our Facebook page. We also change the phone recording, so you can call in for information. Several staff have portable laptops we can use to periodically check our communications channels when we’re snowed in, so if something comes up urgently and we’re closed, please leave us a voicemail or send an email (info@bugbeecenter.org). We’ll always do our best to help and to stay connected with you.

Thank you to Bugbee’s staff, volunteers, participants, supporters, and friends! Enjoy lighting your Menorah, trimming your Christmas Tree, listening to holiday tunes, or simply relaxing as winter brings us quieter and cozier times to reflect and connect. Happy holidays, from all your friends at Bugbee!
