I feel like The Beatles “Here Comes the Sun” fits especially well for this spring! As I write this, it’s pouring rain…but we know the sun is coming, and maybe by then the dirt roads will be dried out a little.
Things are really hopping here at the Center! The menu looks awesome, and lots of fun activities planned this month. Plus a special project for this summer: we are building a garden in the back yard to grow some vegetables! We’ll be able to offer anyone interested a few plots in accessible, elevated garden beds, so if you would like to grow something, let us know! (Volunteer gardeners will be helping out, too, so don’t worry if you’re not a green thumb. You’ll have some help.)
It’s volunteer recognition month! Thank you to all of the crew: we could never, ever, do what we do without your help. This month we also thank a very special volunteer. Some of you may know Bev Ricker and her husband Al. Bev has been a long-time board member, expert quilter, and regular visitor to Bugbee Senior Center. Some of you may NOT know that she retired from the Board of Directors earlier this year. Between her board service and other volunteering, she’s been a friend to Bugbee for decades. Thank you, Bev!
Despite all that is happening in the world, from the lingering impacts of the pandemic to the war in Ukraine, your perspective, wisdom, and good spirits has kept this a great place to be, an excellent place to meet people, and for us, a fun place to work. Keep in touch, and thank you!
