Locally Yours is back this year! Our first delivery will be Wednesday, May 15 around 10-11am. Thank you to Sunrise Farm for reserving CSAs for Bugbee seniors, and to Senior Solutions for funding assistance! The program is a great chance for seniors to access fresh, locally grown produce. To participate, it’s easy! Bugbee members can just scan their key card and sign in, or you can write your name on a coupon. Keeping track of participation will help us tell funders about the program so we can keep it going again next year! If you’re new to Bugbee, we’d encourage you to become a member. It’s free and all older adults are welcome to participate.
What is Locally Yours?
Free CSAs! CSA stands for Community Supported Agriculture, meaning people can purchase shares of a farm’s harvest in advance. This year, Senior Solutions has purchased weekly shares of Sunrise Farm’s harvest for us to share with Bugbee seniors. The program lasts until the end of October.
How does it work?
Easy! Wednesday mornings, CSAs are delivered. We can put you on a call list to let you know when the shares arrive. When you show up, just scan your member card and sign in for the program (or write your name on a coupon so we can keep track of how many people are participating). Take what you need or want to try out! If you find any recipes using the produce that you like, bring it in to share with other participants.
