Memorialize your loved ones, kids, best friends, or pets with a hilarious, custom-painted portrait done by Bugbee’s worst (or sometimes, not-so-bad) artists. We’re dusting off our paint brushes and will make our best attempt to recreate your photo on canvas.

Will the result be recognizable? Will it actually turn out…kind of nice? Who knows! That’s part of the fun! Guaranteed to give you a good laugh, and a memorable keepsake. Plus, the proceeds from your purchase goes towards programs for seniors, including Meals on Wheels, the BugbeeTalks series, social services, and more.

How it works...

1

Order your Bad Art.

You can order a painting online, in person at Bugbee, or over the phone. You have two options: pick up your painting in December (perfect for holiday gifts), or in February (a unique and funny Valentine’s Day gift!). The cost is $40, which includes a 10 x 10 custom-made acrylic painting on canvas, along with a gift box and a note card from your senior artist.

2

Send us a photo.

After you place your order, email us (info@bugbeecenter.org) the photo you’d like us to use, or bring it by in person. We can scan the image so that you can keep the original photo. It will be matched to one of our NOT-expert artists, who will do their very best to recreate the photo. Please feel free to share any information or stories about the photo, which will make it even more fun for our volunteer Picassos!

3

Pick up your one-of-a-kind masterpiece.

We will call and/or email you when your painting is ready for pickup! We do not offer shipping at this time, but can try to work out alternatives arrangements if you are unable to come by Bugbee during business hours (M-F, 8-4). All paintings will be ready for pickup by Monday, December 18 (or February 7 before Valentine’s Day).

Purchases benefit programs for seniors at Bugbee. We’d also like to thank our intrepid volunteers for their creativity and sense of humor! A portion of your purchase counts as a tax-deductible donation. Bugbee Senior Center is a 501c3 nonprofit whose mission is to help seniors age well, and to remain independent and involved members of the community.
